We'll sort out where you're struggling and figure out a way forward. I'll follow up with a list of next steps and resources to make things easier for you, then I'll poof away and let you get back to your journey until I'm needed again!

WHAT IS COACHING?


Think of me like your fairy godmother, only instead of getting you to the ball and back by midnight, I help you get your degree completed on your timeline with as little upset as possible! 


For years, I've been helping other students succeed through one-on-one advising, coaching and mentorship, as well as writing, planning and dissertation workshops.

Putting it into practice for myself was another story. I'm the first person in my family to get a university degree, let alone three. I was in an abusive relationship for 2.5 of those degrees. On top of it all, I struggled with undiagnosed anxiety and ADHD. There are a lot of things I wish I'd known and done differently, so I get how hard it can be to have all the answers and still feel lost.


I have extensive experience recovering from wrong turns and hacking down the tough bramble bushes that block the way to the final quest marker—graduation!

How can I guide you to the other side of the forest?

HEAVE THE HUSTLE AND REDEFINE PRODUCTIVITY

Okay, sometimes we have to hustle, but not all the time. Ninety-hour weeks are not sustainable. Even limiting yourself to a 9-5 schedule isn't for everyone. If you have ADHD, you might need to try a sprint-and-crash cycle. Or maybe you need help recognising that you're already doing the most. Together, we'll figure out how you work best so you can meet your goals and still have some energy for, you know, living your life!

TWEAK TRADITIONAL STRATEGIES FOR YOUR LIFE

I once talked to a learning specialist about my time management issues, and they suggested that I keep to-do lists and make a schedule. OMG NO WAY! What?! All I needed was one of these five half-used planners already crammed into my bag? It's a cute idea, but you know as well as I do that a schedule is useless if you forget it exists, and to-do lists turn into no-f***ing-way lists on bad brain days.


I have years of practice taking traditional systems and tweaking them for myself and others, and I'm sure I've got something up my sleeve to make your life easier.

GAIN A RELIABLE ACCOUNTABILI-BUDDY

'Chelsea', you say, 'this all sounds nice, but how do I make it work?' To that, I say: gentle accountability! Not to put pressure on you or anything, but if you know you've got a session coming up, you're more likely to give things a try or knock a few things off your list because you know I'm going to ask you about it. If you've chosen a coaching package, some of the little extras you'll get are mindfulness and accountability reminders.

'That sounds like pressure, Chelsea'. I mean, yes, a little, but here's the gentle part. If things don't go as expected...

I'M HERE TO TROUBLESHOOT!

As issues come up, we'll talk about what happened (or didn't happen) and try something else. Fairy godmothers don't berate, we comfort and troubleshoot. It's in the Code or... something. Bring me a problem to do with routine, boundaries, goal setting or pushing past a writing block, and in return, you'll get understanding, compassion and a a bunch of new fun things to try!
